1. The slotted rotor is eccentrically supported in the cycloid cam. The rotor is located close to the cam wall, thus forming a crescent-shaped cavity. The rotor is sealed into the cam by two side plates. The blade or blade is installed in a slot of the impeller. As the rotor rotates (yellow arrow) and fluid enters the pump, centrifugal force, hydraulic pressure, and / or push rods push the blades against the wall of the housing. The tight seal between the blade, rotor, cam and side plate is the key to the good suction characteristics common to the blade suction principle.

2. The housing and cam press the fluid into the pump chamber through the hole on the cam (the small red arrow on the bottom of the pump). The fluid enters the recess formed by the blades, rotor, cam and side plates.

3. When the rotor continues to rotate, the blade sweeps the fluid to the other side of the crescent. When the blade approaches the point of the crescent, the fluid will be squeezed through the discharge hole of the cam (small red arrow on the side of the pump). The fluid then leaves the discharge port.
